How To Use Pads
Choose a pad of the appropriate thickness and absorbency.
If you have a light period, start with a light pad, and so on. Absorbency of pads has improved dramatically, even in recent years. Some thinner pads can be quite absorbent. Look at the rating and length, and try a few different brands and styles before settling on one you like. Thinner pads are often more comfortable to sit on
Remove any wrappers or boxes from the pad.
You can discard them or use them to dispose of the used pad you are replacing
Putting it in your pantys
Fold out the flaps, or wings open the bag and take off the long, center backing that covers the adhesive on the center.Stick the adhesive part to your panties. You'll get better with practice at centering the pad front to back. Remove any backings from the adhesive on the flaps or wings and fold them around the panties so that they stick
Wear the panties as usual.
Check regularly to see if the pad needs changing. You can check when you go to the bathroom. Change the pad every few hours as needed to avoid odors.
Little tips and tricks:
~Waste one or two. Do what they do in commercials and pour some water on the pad to see how much it will hold. There's no need for the blue food coloring, but you'll feel better knowing.
~Although it may feel strange at first, the pad will generally not be visible. It will follow the curve of your body and be well hidden. You may feel better wearing loose pants or a skirt however.
~Carry a spare or two. You can keep them discreetly hidden in an inside pocket of your purse, backpack, or makeup bag, according to what you prefer to carry. Your periods may be irregular at first, so it might be a good idea to have one on hand.
~If your period started unexpectedly, remember to remove blood stains in cold water; never hot.
~Wear regular panties when wearing a pad. No thongs.
~Never flush pads. Dispose of them in the trash, instead
